Materials Needed
Campfire Art Activity
Difficulty Level: Medium
Time Needed: 20 Minutes + Search and Dry Time
Best done: Indoors and Outdoors
Messy level: Medium-High
Materials Needed
Paint/chalk
Non-toxic Glue
Outdoor materials - leaves, sticks etc.
To start, ask your child(ren) what a campfire looks like, what does it need to work? Write down what they describe. Show them pictures of various campfires to help them out if they are unsure.
Encourage your child to gather sticks, leaves, and any other outdoor materials that they would like to use for their project.
Depending on your child's age they may need more or less help with the next portion.
To keep it open-ended, have your children simply create, placing their outdoor materials onto their page in a way that makes sense to them, along with creating fire with material of choice. Again you may have images printed off or shown to them, along with reading their descriptions to help them out.
For a more "craft" approach, have them:
Glue the sticks onto the black paper in a triangle shape.
Then stack some in the center (you may need a lot of glue)! Make sure that it dries all the way before continuing.
Draw flames using orange and/or red paint. Draw smoke using white chalk.
