Materials Needed

Let's Play!

  • We reccommend reading the book "How to Catch a Leprechaun" in the days leading up to St. Patrick's Day to encourage your child to build a "trap."

  • Depending on the age of your child, they may need help coming up with an idea of what type of trap to build but encourage them to come up with it on their own.

  • The night before - when your children don't see, place a note in their trap that says something like "Nice try, follow the clues to find some gold." (Hide the gold somewhere in your home).

  • Some ideas for clues to get your kids moving:

*Jump five times and look in the place where food stays cold

*Run as fast as you can to the place we eat dinner

*Spin in a circle and race to where you shower (or bathe)

  • Have the last clue lead them to the gold!

**Extra ideas from the book to add to the "leprechaun feel"

-Put green food coloring in the toilet

-Tie shoes together (or velcro them together)

-Leave random things misplaced or in a funny position
