Fall trees offer so many possibilities for sensory learning, find out how below!

  • Fall Trees 

Let's Create!

  • Focusing on sensory surrounding fall trees can be combines with the fall leaves sensory, however it may be nice to only have one focus to really let your children engage with the experience.

 

  • Go for a walk somewhere that has many trees (neighborhood, park, nature center etc.) 

  • Then simply find some trees!

    • Let your children feel the roughness of the bark on the trees. If there are pieces already broken off of the trees, let them touch and hold them, even smell!

    • Press on the tree and fell how firm it is

    • Give the trees a smell! 

    • Look at the leaves still hanging on the trees, what color are they? Do they look different than the leaves below (naturally you will be describing these differences to your child for this age group!) 

    • Point out trees that are tall and ones that are smaller. 

    • Are there any pokey trees (like pine)? 

    • Note any trees that have pinecones hanging from them!

  • Focusing on trees is a simple but wonderful way to engage your child's senses!
