Seashell Art

Collect seashells from the beach and use them to create a fun artistic masterpiece with your little ones!

Let's Create!

  • ​​We reccommend doing this activity on a splat mat or another area that can get messy! **Hint: Grab a damp washcloth and have it close by for when you are finished with this project!

  • There are a few options for this art experience, divided by age .

  • Set the construction paper down in the middle of the splat mat then:

    • ​6 months+ : use finger paints .​

      • Place some paint on top of a seashell and help your child to rub the paint on it with their fingers

    • 10 months+ : use fingerpaints

      • Place a blob of paint on the paper and help your child to press the seashell into it. Point out the designs the seashells form.

    • 14 months + : use non-toxic squeeze glue​

      • Squeeze glue onto a piece of paper and help your child to spread it around (a popsicle stick works great). Help your child to press the seashells onto the glue. ​

      • *You could also right their name in glue and stick the seashells onto it!
