We reccommend doing this activity on a splat mat or another area that can get messy! **Hint: Grab a damp washcloth and have it close by for when you are finished with this project!

There are a few options for this art experience, divided by age .

Set the construction paper down in the middle of the splat mat then:

6 months+ : use finger paints .

Place some paint on top of a seashell and help your child to rub the paint on it with their fingers

10 months+ : use fingerpaints

Place a blob of paint on the paper and help your child to press the seashell into it. Point out the designs the seashells form.

14 months + : use non-toxic squeeze glue

Squeeze glue onto a piece of paper and help your child to spread it around (a popsicle stick works great). Help your child to press the seashells onto the glue.

*You could also right their name in glue and stick the seashells onto it!
