Water Ball Toss

This Water Ball Toss motor activity is a fun and exciting way to help your child develop their motor skills.

6 months +: Fill a plastic tub or cookie sheet (not very high sides so babies can do while doing tummy time) with water.​

  • Show your little one how you can drop the balls into the water. Remark to them how the water splashes up when you drop it in. Encourage them to do the same!

10 months +/ If your child is able to sit: fill a bin (with higher sides) up with water. 

  • Show your little one how you drop the ball into the water (right above the water). Encourage them to do the same. Then (from higher up) toss the ball into the water, let them try as well!

12 months +: Show your little one how you lightly throw the ball into the water (from a short distance, over-hand), encourage them to do the same! Let them practice the motion of throwing over-hand, trying to get the ball into the water.
